Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Senior Environmental and Natural Resources Attorney to join its Environment, Land Use, and Natural Resources Practice Group in San Francisco, CA. The attorney will handle diverse cases and matters for regional and national companies, focusing on regulatory counseling and litigation support.

Duties

  • Advise clients on air quality and climate regulatory issues under federal and state laws.
  • Obtain permits and ensure ongoing compliance, including chemical reporting and stormwater management.
  • Respond to government information requests, investigations, enforcement actions, and citizen suits.
  • Advise on environmental aspects of real estate and corporate transactions, including risk allocation and document negotiation.
  • Provide litigation support, including drafting pleadings and managing administrative records.

Requirements

  • JD from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
  • 6-10 years of experience in environmental and natural resources law and related litigation.
  • Outstanding legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and supervise junior associates and paralegals.
  • Strong client-service orientation and professional communication skills.
  • Engagement in business development and professional organizations.
  • Admission to and good standing with the California bar.

Education

  • JD from an accredited law school.
