Duties:

• Lead all phases of litigation from case intake to post-trial resolution

• Act as first or second chair during trials, depositions, arbitrations, and mediations

• Develop case strategies and manage client expectations and communications

• Collaborate with litigation teams to deliver high-caliber written work, including motions and briefs

• Supervise and mentor associates on legal analysis, case development, and courtroom preparation

• Evaluate litigation risks, propose case budgets, and prepare comprehensive updates for clients and internal stakeholders

• Maintain compliance with ethical standards and support continual improvements in litigation processes

Requirements:

• At least 7 years of hands-on civil litigation defense experience

• Experience as first or second chair in high-stakes trials

• Strong ability to assess case value and develop tactical litigation approaches

• Track record of cultivating strong attorney-client relationships

• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in the State of California

Skills:

• Outstanding verbal and written advocacy

• Excellent strategic thinking and legal judgment

• Strong organizational and case management skills

• Ability to foster teamwork while working independently

• Familiarity with advanced legal technology tools (e.g., Westlaw, AI-assisted research platforms)
