Job Overview

A law firm seeks an associate with 3-5 years of corporate or securities law experience for their New York City office. The ideal candidate will have experience with SEC-registered investment advisers and private investment funds, including private equity and venture capital.

Duties

  • Advise on regulatory and compliance matters regarding federal securities laws.
  • Engage in transactional and mergers & acquisitions activities involving investment advisers.
  • Manage multiple legal matters simultaneously.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of corporate and securities law experience at a law firm.
  • Experience with the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, the Investment Company Act of 1940, and the Securities Act of 1933.
  • Transactional experience with investment advisers and private investment funds preferred.
  • Admitted in, or taking steps to become admitted in, Illinois, New York, or District of Columbia.

Education

  • J.D. degree with strong academic credentials.

Certifications

  • Admitted to practice law in applicable jurisdiction.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.
