Job Overview:
A leading national law firm is seeking a Public and Project Finance Associate Attorney with 2 to 5 years of transactional experience to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile public and infrastructure finance matters, including deals involving renewable energy, housing, education, healthcare, and water/sewer systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong deal-closing experience and a foundation in public finance, project finance, or tax equity transactions.

Location:

  • Minneapolis, MN

Duties:

  • Represent public and private sector clients in a variety of finance transactions

  • Handle matters involving municipal bonds, infrastructure projects, and renewable energy finance

  • Draft, negotiate, and review transaction documents related to public and project finance

  • Advise on tax equity structures and project financing strategy

  • Participate in deal structuring, due diligence, and closings

  • Engage in direct communication with clients, lenders, developers, and government issuers

  • Support marketing and business development initiatives, including attending conferences and client meetings

Requirements:

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in public finance, project finance, or structured finance

  • Experience working on and closing transactions is essential

  • Familiarity with municipal securities and project documentation

  • Ability to work collaboratively on cross-office teams and manage responsibilities independently

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active bar license in Colorado, Minnesota, or Pennsylvania (preferred or willingness to obtain)

Skills:

  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational ability

  • Effective communication and client service orientation

  • Business development mindset and ability to support firm growth

  • Willingness to take initiative and assume responsibility early in career
