Insurance Defense Attorney

Job Overview:
A full-time Insurance Defense Attorney position based in New York City, New York, with a hybrid/remote work arrangement. This role focuses on defending civil litigation matters, offering attorneys the opportunity to independently manage cases from inception through resolution while handling a broad range of insurance defense matters.

Duties:

• Manage civil litigation cases from inception through resolution
• Draft pleadings, motions, correspondence, memoranda, and other legal documents
• Conduct legal research and analyze legal issues
• Review and summarize medical records and case-related documents
• Prepare status reports and provide regular updates to clients
• Take and defend depositions, participate in mediations and arbitrations, and argue motions
• Attend in-person and virtual court appearances
• Advise clients throughout the litigation process and develop strategies for efficient case resolution
• Manage multiple cases and deadlines while maintaining high-quality legal work

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of civil litigation experience
• Experience handling automobile negligence or premises liability matters preferred
• Experience with depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and motion practice
• Ability to independently manage a high-volume caseload
• Experience with time billing preferred
• Strong commitment to professional growth and client service

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
• Active license to practice law in New York
