Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Employment Litigation Associate in San Diego, CA, to join its expanding Labor and Employment practice. The role involves representing private and public entity employers in complex employment litigation and providing comprehensive legal services.

Duties

  • Represent clients in discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims.
  • Handle FLSA and wage and hour claims, including class and collective actions.
  • Conduct legal research and draft motions, pleadings, and memoranda.
  • Take and defend depositions and manage discovery activities.
  • Draft EEOC position statements and DFEH responses.
  • Provide advice on federal and state employment law compliance.
  • Engage in labor negotiations and handle grievances and arbitrations.

Requirements

  • 5 to 9 years of substantive experience in employment litigation.
  • Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Knowledge of California employment law.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the California State Bar.

Skills

  • Excellent client service and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research and drafting.
  • Experience with trial or arbitration processes.
