Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level project finance attorney with debt and tax equity experience to join their Energy and Infrastructure Team in Menlo Park, CA. The successful candidate will represent clients in the renewable energy sector, handling transactions related to the development, acquisition, and financing of projects.

Duties

• Represent sponsors and financing parties in renewable energy projects.
• Draft and negotiate debt term sheets, loan agreements, and security documents.
• Draft and negotiate equity capital contribution agreements and partnership agreements.
• Manage junior associates and oversee transaction processes.
• Communicate directly with clients and third-party advisors.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in the energy industry at a large law firm or comparable in-house counsel role.
• Excellent oral communication, writing, research, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage projects and work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong academic credentials from a top-tier law school.
• Admitted to and in good standing with the state bar in which they reside.

Education

• Juris Doctor from a top-tier law school.

Certifications

• Member in good standing with the state bar.

Skills

• Strong familiarity with project finance work, particularly in debt and tax equity.
• Experience with drafting and negotiating various legal documents.
• Familiarity with project development and operation contracts.
