A law firm seeks a Corporate/Transactional Attorney with 6+ years of experience to join its team in Raleigh, NC. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate law and transactional matters, including drafting, negotiating, and closing deals. Commercial real estate experience is a plus but not required. The position offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative, client-focused environment on complex legal matters across multiple practice areas. Candidates must be admitted to practice in North Carolina or willing to obtain admission.

Duties

  • Provide comprehensive legal counsel on corporate and transactional matters, including mergers, acquisitions, financings, and governance.
  • Research, draft, review, negotiate, and close various business agreements and transactions.
  • Offer legal advice in a clear and accessible manner to clients, helping them navigate complex legal issues.
  • Take the lead on client relationships, ensuring high-quality service and fostering long-term partnerships.
  • Actively participate in business development efforts, including growing existing client relationships and attending networking events.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across various practice areas to offer integrated legal solutions.
  • Delegate tasks to paralegals, associates, and support staff to ensure efficient case management.
  • Assist managing partners with special projects and firm-wide initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in corporate and transactional law.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in North Carolina, or the ability to become admitted promptly.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active bar membership in North Carolina or eligibility to be admitted.

Skills

  • Strong legal research, writing, and verbal communication abilities.
  • Creative problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines, and work autonomously.
