Senior Litigation Associate

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Senior Litigation Associate with 6-10 years of experience in civil and commercial litigation to join their Pittsburgh, PA office. The role involves significant client interaction and requires the ability to work independently while managing complex litigation matters.

Duties

• Lead and manage litigation matters from inception through trial and/or settlement.
• Draft and argue motions, briefs, pleadings, and other court filings.
• Take and defend depositions; prepare witnesses and experts for testimony.
• Conduct and oversee discovery, including e-discovery, document review, and production.
• Appear in court for hearings, conferences, and trial proceedings.
• Develop case strategies in collaboration with partners and clients.
• Manage client relationships and provide practical, solutions-oriented advice.
• Train and mentor junior associates and litigation support staff.
• Ensure compliance with deadlines, budgets, and case management requirements.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school; strong academic credentials preferred.
• Admitted to practice and in good standing in Pennsylvania; experience in federal court proceedings.
• 6-10+ years of litigation experience at a law firm or comparable setting.
• Demonstrated experience handling complex litigation independently.
• Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines simultaneously.
• Proven leadership, client management, and mentoring abilities.

Education

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice in Pennsylvania.
