Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Technology Attorney in Atlanta, Georgia. This role involves overseeing technology contracts and managing related risk considerations, particularly concerning confidentiality. The attorney will collaborate with the General Counsel, CIO, and Technology & Innovation Committee to manage technology governance, contracting strategies, privacy, data protection, procurement, and vendor management.

Duties

  • Develop and operate technology procurement systems and controls.
  • Lead legal review and negotiation for technology-related contracts.
  • Communicate and negotiate with counterparties and stakeholders.
  • Maintain and enhance a contract lifecycle management tool.
  • Establish standard playbooks and templates for supplier agreements.
  • Develop requirements for firm suppliers in the form of guidelines.
  • Stay informed on industry changes affecting technology agreements.
  • Scale procurement processes according to risk profiles.
  • Collaborate with various departments to apply consistent standards.
  • Extend methods to client contracts, managing associated risks.
  • Lead adoption of technology and AI to streamline processes.
  • Support the Technology & Innovation Committee in governance.
  • Assist CIO in managing risks of technology acquisitions.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an ABA-approved school or equivalent.
  • Active license in good standing with a state bar.
  • Minimum of three years of technology contract experience.
  • Familiarity with generative AI products and capabilities.
  • Experience with records systems and Microsoft products.
  • Knowledge of data privacy laws, including GDPR.
  • Strong negotiation skills with counterparties.
  • Exceptional critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Interest in enterprise technology and innovative use of technology.
  • Ability to organize and synthesize information effectively.
  • Flexibility and prioritization skills to meet business needs.
  • Comfort working across time zones and with international partners.
  • Strong ethical values and integrity.

Education
