Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Environmental Associate (Mid-to-Senior Level) to join their San Francisco, CA office. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in transactional deals focusing on environmental, health, and safety-related matters. This role involves leading environmental due diligence for real estate sales and corporate mergers and acquisitions, as well as advising clients on environmental regulatory issues.

Duties

  • Manage matters related to waste disposal from industrial and power-producing applications.
  • Oversee air emissions permitting and water discharge enforcement and permitting.
  • Handle matters involving environmental reporting requirements.
  • Advise clients on environmental regulatory matters and negotiate civil enforcement issues.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of transactional deal experience in environmental, health, and safety matters.
  • Experience in environmental due diligence for real estate and corporate transactions.
  • Active bar membership in Pennsylvania, Washington, DC, Texas, or California.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active bar membership in the relevant jurisdiction.

Skills

  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and client counseling abilities.
  • Proficiency in managing complex environmental matters.
