Job Overview

A law firm seeks a litigation associate for its Chicago, IL office. This role offers the chance to engage in creditor's rights litigation and bankruptcy law within a collaborative team environment. The position involves working closely with senior attorneys and participating in client-facing activities.

Duties

  • Draft complaints and motions for various legal proceedings.
  • Conduct discovery and manage case files effectively.
  • Appear in federal, state, and bankruptcy courts.
  • Negotiate settlements and communicate with opposing counsel and clients.
  • Enforce commercial loans and manage collateral repossession.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of law firm experience in creditor's rights litigation and bankruptcy law.
  • Experience with the Uniform Commercial Code, equipment leasing, and commercial finance law.
  • Deposition experience and strong case management skills.
  • Admitted to practice in Illinois or in the process of admission.

Education

  • J.D. degree with strong academic credentials.

Certifications

  • Admitted to the Illinois Bar or eligible for admission.
