Job Overview

A law firm seeks a junior to mid-level associate with 2-6 years of experience to join their Global Projects practice in Palo Alto, CA. The role focuses on project finance transactions, particularly involving U.S. Department of Energy financing programs.

Duties

  • Represent lenders, sponsors, and other stakeholders in project finance transactions.
  • Structure and negotiate credit agreements, intercreditor agreements, and security documents.
  • Support transactions involving DOE Loan Programs Office financing, including Title XVII and ATVM programs.
  • Conduct due diligence and manage deal execution across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Collaborate closely with partners and clients on sophisticated, high-profile transactions.

Requirements

  • 2-6 years of experience in project finance transactions at a leading law firm.
  • Familiarity with renewable energy, power, infrastructure, or energy transition projects preferred.
  • Experience with DOE-backed financings or similar government-supported programs.
  • Strong drafting, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams in fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent academic credentials and strong attention to detail.
  • Admission to the bar in the relevant U.S. jurisdiction (or eligibility to waive in).

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the bar in the relevant U.S. jurisdiction.
