Job Overview

A law firm seeks a driven Senior Litigation Attorney to join their Wildfire Litigation team in San Diego, CA. The ideal candidate will have a background in civil litigation, with experience in wildfire litigation being a plus. This role involves investigating and litigating cases related to human-caused fires, offering an opportunity to work on impactful cases within a collaborative team environment.

Duties

  • Handle all phases of complex civil litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions, and trial preparation.
  • Develop and execute legal strategies for wildfire and other complex litigation matters.
  • Conduct legal research and draft briefs, motions, and memoranda.
  • Operate independently in trials, hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop and execute strategies and deliver excellent client service.
  • Maintain strong communication with clients and provide timely updates on case developments.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
  • 7+ years of civil litigation experience; experience in wildfire, mass tort, or environmental litigation is a plus.
  • Strong litigation skills, including deposition and motion practice experience.
  • Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to client advocacy and teamwork.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
