Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney specializing in wildfire litigation for a fully remote position based in California. The role involves providing high-quality legal services to support casework, clients, and litigation objectives. The attorney will manage assigned matters, conduct legal research, draft pleadings and motions, participate in discovery, and collaborate with partners, senior attorneys, and legal support staff.

Duties

  • Manage assigned cases or case components under attorney supervision.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and responses.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on complex legal issues.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and court personnel.
  • Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials.
  • Review, analyze, and summarize medical records, contracts, and evidence.
  • Assist with case strategy development and litigation planning.
  • Maintain accurate case files and documentation using firm systems.
  • Comply with all ethical, professional, and confidentiality obligations.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in California.
  • 3+ years of litigation experience preferred.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in California.
