Job Overview

A law firm seeks a highly capable and motivated associate attorney with experience in trust and estate administration in Irvine, CA. The role offers a collaborative work environment with opportunities for career growth and a variety of perks and benefits to enhance the team's experience.

Duties

  • Counsel trustees through all phases of the trust administration process.
  • Prepare trust administration documents, including those related to asset distribution and sub-trust funding.
  • Gather, inventory, identify, and value trust and estate assets.
  • Prepare and/or review trust accountings, estate tax returns, and gift tax returns.
  • Draft and file court documents such as probates and petitions.
  • Oversee court matters from petition filing to receipt of signed court orders.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support trust and estate matters.
  • Collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and other attorneys for efficient case management.
  • Communicate directly with clients and advisors.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school; member in good standing of the California Bar.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an attorney in trust and estate administration.
  • Completed LLM in Taxation is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to write clearly and logically, integrating legal analyses.
  • Excellent organization, computer, and math skills.
  • Ability to analyze facts and apply them to statutes and case law.
  • Ability to verbally present case facts, legal analyses, and recommendations.
  • Ability to work independently or with a team.

Education

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Member in good standing of the California Bar.

  • Proficient in math and legal analysis.
