Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level associate with 3-5 years of patent prosecution experience to join the Pharmaceutical group in Washington, D.C. This role involves working closely with clients and inventors throughout the patent process.

Duties

  • Work closely with clients and inventors at all stages of the patent process.
  • Prepare and file patent applications.
  • Conduct freedom-to-operate and patentability analysis.
  • Assist in other responsibilities or projects as needed.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of patent prosecution experience.
  • Admitted to or eligible for admission in Massachusetts or New York.
  • Admitted to the USPTO.

Education

  • Ph.D. in organic chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field.
  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admitted to the USPTO.

Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to stay organized and exercise extreme attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in team settings.
