Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Mid-level Associate to join its Public Finance Practice Group in Charlotte, NC. The role involves guiding clients through tax-exempt and taxable financings across various sectors, including healthcare, energy, and higher education. The associate will engage in drafting, negotiating, and analyzing financing documents and complex federal tax issues.

Duties

  • Review, draft, and analyze credit support, tax, construction, and management agreements.
  • Draft and negotiate financing and offering documents, certificates, and opinions.
  • Analyze complex federal tax issues related to financings.
  • Collaborate with public and private clients across multiple industries.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in debt finance, public finance, or project finance at a top 100 law firm.
  • Experience with real estate, secured lending, and tax-exempt finance transactions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for client and team interactions.
  • Strong academic record with excellent writing and oral communication skills.
  • North Carolina Bar membership required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in North Carolina.

Skills

  • Proficiency in drafting and negotiating legal documents.
  • Ability to analyze complex legal and tax issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
