Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Mid-Level Environmental Associate in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in environmental law or permitting, with exposure to M&A or project finance transactions. The role involves working with a diverse client base, including developers, financial institutions, and government entities.

Duties

  • Advise clients on environmental statutes such as CERCLA, NEPA, Clean Water Act, and Clean Air Act.
  • Support transactions, project development, permitting, and litigation.
  • Conduct legal research, draft documents, and manage client interactions.
  • Collaborate with federal and state agencies on complex matters.
  • Contribute to a team-oriented environment while managing multiple priorities.

Requirements

  • JD with strong academic credentials.
  • Admitted to the Bar in a U.S. state and compliant with local jurisdictional requirements.
  • 3-5 years of relevant environmental law experience.
  • Experience with environmental aspects of M&A or project finance transactions.
  • Excellent research, drafting, and communication skills.
  • Strong commitment to client service and teamwork.
