Experienced Civil Litigation Attorney - Remote/Hybrid

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced civil litigation attorney to join their New York City, NY office, specializing in automotive and trucking negligence. This position offers a hybrid/remote work arrangement.

Duties

• Manage a full caseload of motor vehicle negligence and general liability claims.
• Supervise junior attorneys and staff in case-related responsibilities.
• Draft pleadings, correspondence, and other case-related documents.
• Communicate with clients, insurance contacts, and opposing counsel.
• Identify, research, and analyze legal issues and opinions.
• Take and defend depositions, handle arbitrations, and argue motions.
• Attend in-person and virtual court appearances.
• Analyze and summarize medical or case-related records.
• Write reports to clients analyzing issues and case status.
• Explain litigation processes to those unfamiliar with them.
• Drive cases toward cost-effective and fair resolutions.
• Manage multiple assignments and deadlines.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in civil litigation, specializing in motor vehicle negligence and/or general liability.
• Experience handling depositions, mediations, and arbitrations.
• Proven ability to manage a full caseload.
• Experience in managing junior attorneys and staff.
• Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
• Strong verbal and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the New York State Bar.
