Bankruptcy Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an attorney in Greenville, SC, with experience representing secured creditors in consumer Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy cases. The ideal candidate will have over two years of experience and a solid understanding of the Bankruptcy Code and Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure. However, candidates with less experience who are team-oriented may also be considered. A license to practice law in South Carolina is required.

Duties

• Manage routine bankruptcy matters.
• Draft and review pleadings and claims.
• Attend scheduled hearings.
• Respond to firm-wide bankruptcy inquiries.
• Review client filings.
• Monitor electronic filings (ECFs).
• Resolve routine bankruptcy matters.
• Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, and the Court.

Requirements

• Knowledge of bankruptcy rules and creditor rights laws.
• Computer literacy.
• Professionalism and attention to detail.
• Strong keyboard and time management skills.
• Excellent communication skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in South Carolina.
• Admitted to District and/or Bankruptcy Courts in South Carolina.
