Insurance Defense Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney to join its Litigation team in Manchester, New Hampshire. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in insurance defense litigation and the ability to manage multiple cases and priorities effectively.

Duties

• Participate in settlement negotiations, arbitration, and mediations.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Develop litigation and claims strategies.
• Advise clients on litigation risks.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
• Utilize e-discovery software where applicable.
• Argue motions and cases in state and federal courts.
• Collaborate with the Litigation team and senior partners.
• Assist and mentor junior attorneys.
• Manage insurance defense matters, including first-party property claims, personal injury, premises liability, and professional liability.

Requirements

• 5-12+ years of insurance defense litigation experience.
• Strong deposition and trial preparation skills.
• Exceptional legal writing, research, and oral advocacy abilities.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• New Hampshire Bar admission required; admission in MA, ME, or VT is a plus.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the New Hampshire Bar.
