Labor Associate

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Labor Associate to join their team in White Plains, NY. The role focuses on traditional labor relations and providing counsel on federal and New York workplace laws. The successful candidate will represent employers in various labor-related matters and contribute to the firm's proactive strategies.

Duties

• Handle unfair labor practice charges at the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).
• Conduct research and draft legal documents.
• Represent management in NLRB elections.
• Advise employers on union organizing and corporate campaigns.
• Negotiate and advise on collective bargaining agreements.
• Manage grievance, arbitration, and unfair labor practice proceedings.
• Obtain mass picketing injunctions.
• Review handbooks and policies for legal compliance.
• Conduct management training on labor relations and workplace issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• JD from an accredited law school.
• 2+ years of traditional labor law experience preferred.
• NY Bar Admission.
• Understanding of state and federal agency enforcement techniques preferred.

Skills

• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required.
• Willingness to travel for business purposes.
