Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Employee Benefits Associate Attorney to join their team in Minneapolis, MN. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in employee benefits and executive compensation, with a focus on ERISA-related matters.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough research and analysis on employee benefits and executive compensation issues.
  • Advise clients on qualified and non-qualified retirement plans, ESOPS, and health and welfare plans.
  • Collaborate with employment, corporate finance, and general business practice groups.
  • Manage a challenging workload with a commitment to client service.

Requirements

  • Three or more years of experience in employee benefits and executive compensation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of maturity.
  • Active Minnesota license or eligibility to become admitted to the Minnesota bar.

Education

  • Degree in law; background in tax, finance, or business preferred.

Certifications

  • Admitted to practice law in Minnesota or eligible for admission.

Skills

  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Experience with ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, and IRC Section 409A.
