Job Overview

Job Duties

  • Work primarily on wrongful conviction and police misconduct cases.
  • Assist with other civil rights, whistleblower, and privacy cases.
  • Build strong client relationships.
  • Evaluate and investigate case merits.
  • Manage and conduct discovery and investigations.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Draft and edit briefs at all litigation stages.
  • Prepare and participate in trials, aiming to lead trial teams.
  • Prepare and argue appellate cases.
  • Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and paralegals.
  • Contribute to a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Develop and maintain community stakeholder relationships.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Depth of knowledge in civil rights and litigation.
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills.

  • Licensed in Illinois or eligible to waive in.
