Senior Cyber Class Action Attorney

Job Overview
A law firm seeks a Senior Cyber Class Action Attorney in Chicago, Illinois. This role offers a flexible, hybrid working arrangement and is open to applicants from across the United States, with potential reporting to other regional offices.

Duties

• Defend privacy lawsuits and data breach class actions in state and federal courts nationwide.
• Draft and argue dispositive motions, including motions to dismiss and motions for summary judgment.
• Manage strategy and timelines for multiple class action cases.
• Prepare and respond to written discovery, and take and defend depositions.
• Participate in mediations for class action settlements and draft settlement papers for court approval.

Requirements

• 8+ years of complex litigation experience in state and federal courts.
• Class action litigation experience is required.
• Cybersecurity and data privacy background is preferred but not essential.
• Excellent research and writing skills, including drafting briefs and dispositive motions.
• Experience defending in data breach and other privacy class actions is a plus.
• Working knowledge of state and federal rules of civil procedure.
• Highly organized and able to meet deadlines in multiple cases.
• Team player.

Education

• JD from an accredited law school is required.
