Litigation Attorney (4+ Years)

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Attorney with 4-8 years of experience to join their litigation practice in Wilmington, NC. The ideal candidate will have experience in general business litigation, eminent domain, and real estate litigation.

Duties

• Represent clients in disputes from pre-suit strategy through trial.
• Collaborate on case strategy, discovery, and motion practice.
• Handle complex contract and commercial tort disputes.
• Manage real property rights and eminent domain proceedings.
• Draft pleadings and dispositive motions.
• Conduct written discovery and depositions.
• Work with experts on valuation and damages theories.
• Prepare for and conduct hearings, mediations, and trials.
• Advise clients on risk mitigation and settlement options.
• Contribute to business development and firm marketing efforts.

Requirements

• Solid foundation in civil procedure and evidence.
• Excellent legal writing and oral advocacy skills.
• Experience with business disputes and real estate litigation.
• Experience managing discovery and depositions.
• Ability to appear in court.

Education

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Good standing with the North Carolina Bar.
• Consideration for those eligible for transfer admission to North Carolina.
