Mid-Level Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A prominent law firm based in Washington, DC is seeking a highly skilled mid-level associate to join its dynamic litigation team. This position involves representing leading public companies, financial entities, and private investment firms in intricate legal disputes across various forums. The role offers an opportunity to engage in impactful litigation work that spans commercial conflicts, deal-related matters, and class actions, while also contributing to team development through mentorship and leadership.

Duties:

  • Handle complex commercial litigation and class action matters from inception to resolution

  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and related litigation documents

  • Conduct in-depth legal research and present persuasive legal arguments

  • Manage discovery, including e-discovery, and oversee document production

  • Participate in arbitration and mediation proceedings

  • Build and sustain strong relationships with institutional clients

  • Guide and mentor junior team members on case strategy and litigation tasks

Requirements:

  • 4-7 years of litigation experience at a well-established law firm

  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage large-scale litigation matters

  • Substantial experience in shareholder disputes, corporate governance claims, and breach of contract cases

  • Proven leadership in team-oriented environments

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the District of Columbia Bar (or eligibility for prompt admission)

Skills:

  • Exceptional writing and oral advocacy abilities

  • Strong analytical thinking and complex problem-solving skills

  • High level of organizational proficiency and attention to detail

  • Ability to balance multiple priorities under tight deadlines

  • Effective communicator and collaborator within cross-functional teams
