Job Overview:

A leading law firm is seeking highly qualified law school graduates and judicial clerks for associate positions across its U.S. offices. Lateral candidates with experience in commercial litigation are encouraged to apply. Ideal candidates will have experience handling discovery, taking and defending depositions, drafting pleadings, and managing document review. In-court experience is preferred but not required. Location:

  • Washington, DC

Duties:

  • Manage discovery processes, including document review and production.
  • Take and defend depositions in commercial litigation matters.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Assist in trial preparation and litigation strategy development.
  • Participate in hearings, motions, and case management conferences.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex commercial litigation cases.
  • Provide support in various stages of litigation, from pre-trial to post-trial.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on litigation-related issues.

Requirements:

  • Commercial litigation experience, including discovery, depositions, and document review.
  • In-court experience is preferred but not required.
  • Exceptional academic credentials.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bar admission in the jurisdiction of your office of interest or eligibility to obtain admission promptly.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Bar admission in the jurisdiction of your office of interest (or eligibility to obtain admission promptly).

Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in handling discovery and managing document review.
  • Experience taking and defending depositions.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to draft complex legal documents with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team.
  • In-court experience is a plus.
