Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Civil Litigation Attorney for its Bloomfield Hills, MI office. This role offers the chance to work with seasoned litigators on complex employment and commercial litigation cases in a dynamic environment. The position provides hands-on experience, client interaction, and mentorship while representing professionals, businesses, and insurers.

Duties

  • Handle all phases of commercial and labor & employment litigation from inception to resolution.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents.
  • Conduct legal research and assist with litigation strategy and case analysis.
  • Manage discovery and prepare for depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial preparation.
  • Communicate with clients, insurers, opposing counsel, and witnesses, providing case updates and strategic guidance.
  • Collaborate with attorneys across offices on complex litigation matters.
  • Provide proactive case management and client reporting.

Requirements

  • Admission to practice in Michigan required.
  • 3 to 5 years of commercial litigation and/or labor & employment litigation experience.
  • Strong writing, research, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced litigation environment.
  • Strong organizational, case management, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Insurance defense litigation.
  • Experience with depositions, motion practice, mediations, arbitrations, and court appearances.
  • Experience managing matters independently.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Michigan.
