Job Overview: A law firm seeks a skilled and driven Employment Litigation Associate to join its team in San Francisco, CA. The ideal candidate will bring 4-6 years of experience in employment litigation, particularly with California wage-hour class action claims and PAGA cases. This role offers the opportunity to manage cases independently, from initial filings to trial preparation, in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Duties:

  • Handle all phases of employment litigation, including drafting pleadings, responding to discovery, and preparing motions.
  • Represent clients in California wage-hour class action and PAGA cases.
  • Take and defend depositions, including preparing witnesses for testimony.
  • Conduct legal research and draft detailed motions, including those related to case strategy and discovery disputes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and manage multiple projects while maintaining a high standard of work quality.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of experience in employment litigation, specifically in California wage-hour and PAGA claims.
  • Ability to independently manage cases and work effectively in a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfort with drafting discovery requests, responses, and motions.
  • Proficiency in handling depositions and other aspects of litigation.
  • Must be admitted to practice law in California.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active California State Bar membership required.

Skills:

  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple litigation cases concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and within a team structure.
  • Detail-oriented with an ability to handle complex legal issues efficiently.
  • Strong oral communication and client management skills.
