Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Law and Motion Associate - Of Counsel (Remote) based in Jacksonville, FL. This fully remote position is available nationwide in any state where the firm maintains an office. The role involves handling motion work related to litigation matters, including demand letters, requests for records, and agency/administrative charges.

Duties

  • Conduct legal research and draft briefs/motions, including dispositive and discovery motions.
  • Draft trial motions and assist with preparing trial documents.
  • Research and draft appellate briefs.
  • Draft and respond to pleadings and discovery.
  • Prepare mediation briefs.
  • Collaborate with the firm's Professional Development team to deliver work product to clients.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by firm leadership.

Requirements

  • Admitted to the CA state bar and in good standing.
  • At least 4 years of experience in California employment litigation for Associate role consideration.
  • 9+ years of relevant California experience for Of Counsel level consideration.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and balance competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills and strong legal research and drafting abilities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications

  • Admission to the California State Bar.

Skills

  • Strong collaboration skills across Legal Support, Operations, and Attorney teams.
