A law firm seeks an experienced Of Counsel attorney to join its Project & Energy group, focusing on energy transition financing. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on high-profile, innovative projects in the energy sector. You will engage with complex financing deals and contribute to the development of sustainable energy solutions. The position offers a hybrid work environment with a mix of remote and in-office responsibilities.

Duties

  • Advise on financing and mergers & acquisitions (M&A) for energy transition projects and companies.
  • Provide expertise in tax equity and renewable energy tax credit monetization.
  • Manage legal aspects of financing transactions related to energy projects, ensuring compliance and strategic alignment.
  • Collaborate with teams across multiple jurisdictions on international energy matters.
  • Offer innovative solutions to meet legal and regulatory requirements in the rapidly evolving energy transition space.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex legal agreements and documentation.
  • Assist with client relationship management, providing proactive advice on energy transition financing issues.

Requirements

  • At least 9 years of experience in energy transition finance.
  • Extensive experience in handling transactions related to financing and M&A in the energy sector.
  • Proven ability in tax equity, renewable energy tax credit monetization, and other related financing structures.
  • Strong knowledge of the energy transition landscape, including legal, regulatory, and financial challenges.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Must be admitted to practice in the jurisdiction of the position or be eligible for admission.

Skills

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to handle complex legal issues.
  • Exceptional writing and communication abilities.
  • Strong negotiation skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in handling energy transition and renewable energy finance matters.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage client relationships.
