Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Personal Injury Attorney for a full-time, on-site position in the Charleston, South Carolina Metropolitan Area. The attorney will manage personal injury cases from intake through resolution, ensuring clients receive comprehensive legal support.

Duties

  • Manage a caseload of personal injury matters from intake to resolution.
  • Investigate claims, gather evidence, and interview clients and witnesses.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and settlement proposals.
  • Negotiate with insurance companies and opposing counsel.
  • Appear in court, mediations, and depositions regularly.
  • Maintain detailed case files and meet all deadlines.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.

Requirements

  • Active license to practice law in South Carolina and in good standing with the state bar.
  • Experience in personal injury or civil litigation, including case management and trial or mediation practice.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Effective negotiation, advocacy, and courtroom skills.
  • Excellent client communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of professionalism, ethics, and discretion.
  • Ability to work on-site and manage multiple cases and deadlines.
  • Experience with personal injury, insurance claims, or tort law preferred.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in South Carolina.
