Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Charleston, SC. This position offers the chance to gain courtroom exposure and hands-on litigation training in a dynamic, high-volume environment. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced trial attorneys, starting with a lighter caseload to facilitate learning and skill development.

Duties

  • Manage a caseload with guidance from senior attorneys.
  • Learn and execute litigation steps from filing to resolution.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal correspondence.
  • Attend hearings, mediations, depositions, and trial proceedings.
  • Second chair active litigation cases with experienced attorneys.
  • Collaborate with litigation staff to efficiently progress cases.
  • Provide excellent communication and client service.

Requirements

  • Active law license in South Carolina, in good standing, or a confirmed pending swear-in date.
  • Strong work ethic and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interest in litigation, trial work, and client advocacy.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in South Carolina.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
