Patent Agent (Video/Audio Processing)

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Patent Agent specializing in video/audio processing to join their team in Durham, NC. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse client base on a national and international scale. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of IP prosecution experience and be admitted to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

Duties

• Draft patent applications and manage IP prosecution processes.
• Collaborate with a team to provide comprehensive IP solutions.
• Engage with clients to understand and address their IP needs.

Requirements

• Minimum of two years of patent prosecution experience in a firm or in-house.
• Experience in physics, math, optics, photonics, audio, or image processing preferred.
• Graduate-level experience or advanced technical degree is a plus.
• Experience with codecs, virtual/augmented reality, and AI is advantageous.

Education

• Degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology.

Certifications

• Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
