A law firm in San Francisco is seeking an Associate Attorney with 2+ years of litigation experience, preferably in employment, consumer, civil rights, and class action matters. The ideal candidate must be admitted to the California Bar and possess excellent oral and written advocacy skills. They should be comfortable taking on significant responsibility, including appearing in court, taking depositions, drafting pleadings, and conducting legal research. Spanish speaking ability is desired.

 

Duties:

  • Appear in court and before arbitrators on behalf of clients.
  • Take depositions and prepare witnesses for testimony.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Research complex legal issues and provide analysis.
  • Interface with clients and opposing counsel.
  • Work directly with firm partners on employment, wage and hour, consumer rights, and civil rights cases.
  • Handle individual plaintiff cases as well as class actions.

 

Requirements:

  • Admission to the California Bar.
  • 2+ years of litigation experience.
  • Private law firm experience preferred.
  • Spanish speaking ability desired.

 

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California Bar.

 

Skills:

  • Excellent oral and written advocacy skills.
  • Strong legal research and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Comfortable with significant responsibility and client interaction.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
