Labor and Employment Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Labor and Employment Attorney in Scranton, PA. The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience and be licensed to practice in Pennsylvania. This role involves advising both employers and employees on workplace law issues and representing clients in various legal settings.

Duties

• Advise employers on compliance with employment laws and regulations.
• Assist employees in understanding their legal rights and options.
• Develop legal strategies, draft pleadings, and argue motions.
• Represent clients in lawsuits, negotiations, mediations, and hearings.
• Provide HR support, including drafting handbooks and policies.
• Conduct in-depth legal research to support case strategies.

Requirements

• Experience in traditional labor law and/or ERISA matters is advantageous.
• Excellent communication, research, and writing skills.
• Union experience is beneficial.
• Active member of the American Bar Association and PA State Bar.
• Some portable business is preferred.
• Over five years of experience in employment litigation, including discrimination and contract cases.
• Must be a self-starter and able to work independently.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania.
