Personal Injury Litigation Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Personal Injury Litigation Attorney to join their team in Raleigh, NC. This role involves managing personal injury cases, including medical malpractice, auto accidents, and premise liability, while leading a team of case managers and paralegals. Occasional travel to Charleston, SC, is expected for client meetings and legal proceedings.

Duties

• Manage a caseload of litigation matters to resolution.
• Examine legal and medical data to determine insurance coverage, liability, and damages.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and insurance companies.
• Draft pleadings, motions, demands, and other legal documents.
• Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, court hearings, and trials.
• Conduct depositions and interviews with clients, witnesses, and experts.
• Prepare for and participate in trial proceedings as necessary.
• Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to team members.
• Conduct legal research and analysis related to personal injury laws.

Requirements

• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and negotiation communication skills.
• Proficient in English; bilingual proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in utilizing a Client Management System (CMS).
• Professional and courteous demeanor with demonstrated compassion and empathy for clients.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in the State Bar of South Carolina in good standing.
• Preferred active licensure in the State Bar of North Carolina or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.

Skills

• Proven track record of representing clients in court.
• Experience leading and mentoring a team within a legal setting.
• Proven utilization of technology, including computers, databases, portals, and software.
