Job Overview

A law firm seeks a highly qualified midlevel associate to join its corporate and business transactions practice group in New York City, NY. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in M&A and Private Equity transactions, including drafting and negotiating transaction agreements.

Duties

  • Draft and negotiate transaction agreements for M&A and Private Equity deals.
  • Collaborate with team members to manage complex transactions.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis.
  • Provide strategic advice to clients on corporate transactions.

Requirements

  • Three to five years of law firm experience in M&A/Private Equity transactions.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Strong organizational, drafting, and analytical skills.
  • Active member of the New York State Bar.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the New York State Bar.

  • Proficiency in drafting and negotiating complex legal documents.

This large New York law firm opened with a labor and leveraged-leasing practice and quickly built a substantial corporate and litigation practice. Today the office is organized into the following practice groups: Business and Finance, Litigation, Labor and Employment Law, Environmental, Intellectual Property, Taxation, Personal Law, Antitrust, and Trade Regulation. Unlike many other national firms with local offices, the New York office has an independent practice base generated by its attorneys. The New York-based attorneys spend substantially all of their time working on behalf of clients of the New York office. The work environment is fairly casual and conservative, but the attorneys are rewarded with competitive salaries.
