Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Environmental Associate (Mid-to-Senior Level) to join their Energy & Natural Resources practice in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in transactional deals focusing on environmental, health, and safety-related matters.

Duties

  • Lead environmental due diligence for real estate sales and corporate mergers and acquisitions.
  • Counsel clients on environmental regulatory matters.
  • Negotiate civil enforcement matters in environmental and health and safety cases.
  • Manage matters regarding waste disposal, air emissions permitting, and water discharge enforcement.
  • Handle environmental reporting requirements.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of relevant transactional experience.
  • Experience in environmental due diligence and regulatory counseling.
  • Active bar membership in Pennsylvania, Washington, DC, Texas, or California.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Active bar membership in the relevant jurisdiction.

Skills

  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in managing complex environmental matters.
  • Excellent client counseling abilities.
