Job Overview

A law firm seeks a litigator with 5-10 years of litigation experience to join its Civil Rights practice group in Chicago, IL. The attorney will manage a full caseload, collaborating with a dedicated team on high-profile civil rights cases involving police brutality, wrongful convictions, and more, litigating in both federal and state courts.

Duties

• Manage all aspects of litigation, including pre-suit investigation, discovery, and trial.
• Collaborate with clients, co-counsel, and attorneys across practice areas.
• Vet and investigate potential cases with the team.
• Ensure high-quality client service and develop litigation strategies.
• Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and staff.
• Contribute to business development and uphold professional excellence.

Requirements

• Proven substantive civil trial experience.
• Significant federal civil litigation experience preferred.
• Self-starter with strong research and writing skills.
• Effective communicator with a creative approach to litigation.
• Commitment to social justice and advocacy for impacted communities.

Education

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the Bar of the State of Illinois and the Northern District of Illinois required.
