A law firm seeks a Mid-Level Benefits Associate Attorney to join their Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation group in Wilmington, NC. The ideal candidate will have three to five years of experience in benefits, including qualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans, and executive and deferred compensation arrangements. Experience in M&A, ERISA litigation, and withdrawal liability is advantageous. The role requires strong writing, oral advocacy, communication, and legal analysis skills, and a preference for working in a collaborative environment.

Duties

  • Advise on qualified retirement plans and health and welfare plans.
  • Handle executive and deferred compensation arrangements.
  • Support benefits and compensation in M&A transactions.
  • Engage in ERISA litigation and manage withdrawal liability issues.
  • Collaborate with team members to deliver comprehensive legal solutions.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • At least three years of employment benefits experience in private practice.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Capability to manage confidential information with discretion.

Education

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Valid authorization to work in the U.S.
