A law firm seeks a Lateral Associate specializing in Biotechnology or Chemical law for their Washington, D.C. office, with hybrid work options available. Duties

  • Engage in patent prosecution and PTAB proceedings.
  • Provide strategic counseling for biotech, pharmaceutical, and chemical technologies.
  • Collaborate with a team to shape and defend patent portfolios.
  • Participate in high-stakes disputes and complex legal matters.

Requirements

  • JD and active attorney license in a U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Eligibility to waive into the D.C. Bar or willingness to sit for the exam.
  • 3-5 years of patent prosecution experience at a law firm.
  • USPTO registration number.
  • Strong foundation in IP and patent law.
  • Previous wet lab experience preferred.

Education

  • Master's degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, chemistry, or related field.

Certifications

  • USPTO registration number.
