Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Trial Attorney with litigation experience to join their team in Charlotte, NC. The firm is committed to client advocacy and excellence in case management. This position offers the flexibility of hybrid work arrangements for the ideal candidate.

Duties

  • Analyze and investigate assigned litigation matters.
  • Manage non-exceptional cases through settlement or verdict.
  • Complete discovery and depositions accurately and timely.
  • Retain and designate experts as needed.
  • Conduct required mediations monthly.
  • Maintain up-to-date case notes and documents.
  • Monitor and attend Statute of Limitations meetings.
  • Ensure litigation deadlines are calendared and met.
  • Report case dates, offers, demands, and settlements.
  • Guide litigation case managers on legal guidelines and deadlines.
  • Participate in litigation meetings and advise on strategy.
  • Assist attorneys and staff as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of NC personal injury litigation experience.
  • Active member of the NC Bar Association.
  • Proficiency in writing, research, and negotiation.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and public speaking skills.
  • Active member of SC Bar Association is a plus.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Experience with Needles Neos or SmartAdvocate software is a plus.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in North Carolina.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and investigative skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases effectively.
  • Proficient in case management software.
