Job Overview:
A highly respected South Carolina-based law firm is seeking an Intake Attorney to join its civil litigation intake team. This remote-flexible position plays a pivotal role in the firm’s client onboarding process. The Intake Attorney will evaluate potential personal injury cases, determine acceptance or referral, and ensure clients receive responsive and compassionate service from the very first interaction. This is an ideal opportunity for a licensed attorney who enjoys meaningful client contact and values work-life balance.

Location:

  • Columbia, SC, South Carolina.

Duties:

  • Serve as the first point of legal contact for prospective personal injury clients

  • Conduct intake calls to evaluate claims and establish rapport with potential clients

  • Analyze legal and factual aspects of cases to determine firm representation or referral

  • Perform preliminary legal research and document review

  • Utilize the firm’s referral network for cases not retained in-house

  • Explain legal processes in an accessible and empathetic manner

  • Maintain detailed case records within the firm’s case management software (Litify or Salesforce)

  • Coordinate with New Client Specialists and Case Managers to ensure a smooth transition for new clients

  • Follow up with referred clients to ensure quality service

  • Attend daily team huddles and monthly firm-wide meetings

  • Continuously contribute to optimizing intake procedures and client communication protocols

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law and in good standing with the South Carolina Bar

  • Comfortable handling client-facing responsibilities with empathy and professionalism

  • Flexible availability for occasional after-hours and weekend intake needs

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active Bar admission in South Carolina

Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills

  • Experience in customer service or professional client relations strongly preferred

  • Ability to evaluate legal claims quickly and accurately

  • Familiarity with CRM or case management systems such as Litify or Salesforce

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills

  • Tech-savvy and proficient with Microsoft Office
