Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Real Estate Attorney to support residential and commercial real estate transactions throughout South Carolina. This role requires an attorney licensed and in good standing with the South Carolina Bar, residing in South Carolina, to serve as the primary legal resource for real estate matters in the state.

Duties

  • Prepare and issue title opinions.
  • Review title commitments and related closing documents.
  • Handle residential and commercial real estate closings, including purchases and refinances.
  • Provide legal representation for buyers and sellers in real estate transactions.
  • Advise on title clearance, curative matters, and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, lenders, agents, and clients throughout the transaction process.
  • Serve as South Carolina counsel for real estate and conveyancing matters as needed.

Requirements

  • Active South Carolina Bar license in good standing required.
  • Must currently reside in South Carolina.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in real estate, title, conveyancing, or related law.
  • Strong knowledge of South Carolina title standards, recording procedures, and settlement practices.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and client service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple transactions efficiently.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in South Carolina.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in legal research and writing.
  • Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly.
