A prominent intellectual property law firm is seeking an IP and Patent Litigation Associate Attorney to join its Washington, D.C. office. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-stakes intellectual property litigation cases, with support from a collaborative team and access to mentorship programs. The position is ideal for attorneys with 1-4 years of experience in patent and IP litigation who are looking to further develop their skills in a leading firm.

Location

Duties

  • Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and prepare arguments for court.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop litigation strategies and arguments.
  • Manage complex IP litigation cases from inception to resolution.
  • Work closely with litigation and prosecution groups to strengthen case outcomes.
  • Provide top-tier representation in intellectual property disputes.

Requirements

  • 1-4 years of experience in patent and/or IP litigation at a law firm.
  • Stellar academic credentials with a strong foundation in IP and patent law.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently.
  • Federal clerkship experience is preferred and eligible for additional bonuses.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in a U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Must be eligible to waive into the D.C. Bar or willing to sit for the D.C. bar exam.
  • USPTO registration number is desirable but not required.

Skills

  • Strong research, analytical, and legal writing skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage and organize complex litigation tasks.
  • Familiarity with IP litigation processes and procedures.
