Job Overview

A law firm seeks a dedicated and detail-oriented Litigation Associate for their Hartford, CT office. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of litigation experience and a strong background in areas such as insurance defense, general liability, medical malpractice, insurance coverage, and employment defense. This role requires excellent case management skills, writing ability, and discovery experience. Trial experience is a plus.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on various cases and legal issues.
  • Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings and negotiations.
  • Litigate cases effectively while adhering to all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients in various legal matters.
  • Stay updated on changes in laws, regulations, and case law relevant to practice areas.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex cases.
  • Maintain organized case files and documentation for all ongoing legal matters.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the state bar association (required).
  • Strong legal research skills with proficiency in using legal research databases.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to advocate effectively for clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team in high-pressure situations.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the state bar association.
