Job Overview: A reputable law firm is seeking a highly skilled Public/Project Finance Associate Attorney to join its team in Minneapolis. This position is ideal for a legal professional with experience in public finance, project finance, or similar transactional work. The role will involve working closely with clients across diverse sectors, including renewable energy, healthcare, housing, and infrastructure projects. Duties:

  • Represent borrowers, developers, investors, and lenders in public and project finance transactions.

  • Manage transactions across various sectors including renewable energy, housing, water/sewer systems, education, and other public infrastructure projects.

  • Assist with drafting, reviewing, and negotiating finance documents, including tax equity structures and other public finance agreements.

  • Collaborate closely with clients, managing relationships and ensuring high-quality service.

  • Contribute to business development efforts and assist in marketing initiatives to expand the firm’s client base.

  • Participate in team meetings, providing input on strategies for deal structures and client relationships.

  • Gain exposure to a variety of public/private sector projects and transactions, increasing expertise in the field.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of experience in public finance, project finance, or finance transactions.

  • Strong experience in finance documentation and tax equity experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to close transactions and manage client relationships.

  • Prior experience in renewable energy, healthcare, or infrastructure projects is a plus.

  • Active bar license in Minnesota (or ability to obtain it).

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Bar in Minnesota (or willingness to obtain it).

Skills:

  • Expertise in public finance and project finance.

  • Strong legal research, drafting, and analytical skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

  • Client-focused with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
